Group of 22 Joined the leader for a this 10.5 mile walk . A cold but bright day making the walking pleasant despite a few muddy patches .
The walked started on Fernyhalgh lane heading north on woodland path to reach a motorway footbridge over the M6 Preston by pass.
Continuing on to the Ladywell Shrine for a quick visit to the gardens and then onward to Haighton House former residence of David Moyes (football manager Preston , Everton ,Manchester united) .
The route then followed existing paths and roads through Cow Hill and along the boundary of the Red Scar industrial estate and onto the Ribble way leading into the Brockholes Nature Reserve .
Stopping here for lunch within the Brockhole facilities we then continued south on the Ribble way /Guild wheel for a short distance before returning northward on to Boilton Wood and the ascent out of the nature reserve .
The return route followed the Guild wheel back to Fernyhalgh Lane .
