HASLINGDEN GRANE

Tuesday 26th. February 2013 - Walk from Haslingden Grane.

Starting from the visitor centre at Clough Head, on a chilly overcast morning, we headed uphill to join the Rossendale Way for a short way, then continued over the hill to Pickup Bank. Keeping below the Broadhead Road, we headed past Pastures and lower Pastures to Broadhead, where shortly after, we found a sheltered spot to have our lunch.

Duly refreshed we headed uphill to Hog Lowe Pike, our high point for the day, then down to what is known locally as Fairy Glen, where we rejoined the Rossendale Way, again only for a short distance. After that we took the path that goes between Ogden and Holden Wood Reservoirs, past Leys End Farm and Clod Farm, to join the Rossendale way yet again, which we followed to the finish of our walk.

A good turnout of 18 members enjoyed the walk of a little over 10 miles.

Thanks Kath.
