Along the Yarrow

Walk Leaders: Kate & Mike Motley

Number on walk: 14

Distance: 10 miles

Weather: Mild with very little rain

We left Eccleston joining the river Yarrow path which we followed to the M6. We then headed north to cross a footbridge over the motorway. We then followed Ransnap Brook through a wood into Euxton where we followed the path at Euxton Parish Church leading to the footbridge over the railway line. Passing some new development (more houses!) we arrived at Euxton Cricket Club pavilion which made for an excellent lunch stop with all the tables and chairs undercover.

We left the pavilion following the path past the sewage works coming out at the Ruttle yard. We followed German Lane which took us back under the railway line coming out onto Preston Road. It was then down to the river Yarrow again which we followed back to Eccleston via Bradley Hall where there were some fine buffalo livestock. The hot and cold drinks provided by Kate & Mike at the end of the walk made for an excellent end to the day.
