This walk started and finished on Higher House Lane, Heapey, Chorley, close to the junction with Heapey Road.

From the start point the route ran alongside numbers one, two and three Heapey Lodges to Coppice Lane. This lane was followed to the cricket ground at White Coppice. From White Coppice the goyte was followed to the northern section of Anglezarke Reservoir. The eastern shore of the reservoir was followed past the Higher Bullough reservior then onto Parson Bullough Lane. This lane was taken to the Yarrow Reservoir where the western shore was then followed down into Rivington village.

Lunch was taken by the Great Barn in Rivington.

Post lunch the group picked up the woodland path by the eastern shore of the Lower Rivington Reservoir which was followed through to the Upper Rivington Reservoir. The embankment between the two was crossed and the western shore of the Upper was followed past the The Street to the western shore of the Anglezarke Reservoir which was then followed to Healey Nab.

The Nab was climbed to its summit where the very clear conditions afforded the group some fantastic views of the Lancashire plain and coast together with some extensive views of the lakeland fells.

From the summit of The Nab the group descended through its wooded slopes back to Higher House Lane and the start point.
