To the Top of the World

I am pleased to inform everyone that Peter Lomax, one of our members, has recently finished his quest to climb to the top of Everest - or more accurately the height of Everest whilst in lockdown.

Some of the statistics of this great feat are

  • Started 2nd May 
  • Finished June 7th
  • Walked 247 miles
  • Climbed 8,927 metres
  • Raised £645.75 (£797.19 with gift aid) so far for St Catherine's Hospice and £180 for the Gurkhas

Peter and Sue would like to thank everyone for their generosity although Sue is now looking for a new stair carpet!

LDWA Walks

The LDWA organises many challenge events and local group social walks, as well as listing many more organised by other organisations. Challenge events are normally between 20 and 100 miles and must generally be completed within a defined time limit. Social walks are normally led walks of around 20 miles.
