CALDER VALE

Led by John Titterington

19 members set of fron Calder Vale village on a dull but warm day, first stop was a surprise Jubilee celebration in the village hall where we were invited to donate and buy home made cakes etc, so we started a little bit later than planned, full of cake!

We had a stiff climb out of Calder Vale across fields towards Bleasedale eventually arriving at Bleasdale stone circle (aound 2000 B.C. to 700 B.C. Bronze Age) for a lunch stop, later we passed Bleasdale Tower and Cobble Hey, visitors centre, then back down to Calder Vale, approx 10.8 miles, another very good Tuesday walk.
