Anglezarke Amble Marshals walk

Walk Leader: Ian

Number on walk: 11

Distance: 15 miles

Weather: Very mild with thick mist in the afternoon

We left the car park following the Witton Weavers Way to Charlie's Pole. The weather was now much better than expected as the fog and mist had lifted revealing all the beautiful landscape around us.

It was at Charlie's Pole that we joined the long route which we then followed to Slipper Low. The route across from Charlie's Pole to Charter's Moss Plantation was very boggy as usual as was the path skirting Turton Heights so we were all pleased to reach firmer ground as we dropped down to the Entwhistle Barn checkpoint. A large ammount of stolen bed heads and accessories had been dumped in the car park the night before.

We stopped for a short break by the reservoir before heading off again. Unfortunately, the mist gradually thickened as we headed north to Darwen Tower and by the time we got there we were in very thick mist. A big thanks to Angela for checking the route description.
