What a wonderful start to the year. The weather was perfect with blue sky and not a sign of rain and the company was so good.

John kept us on predominantly dry paths for most of the walk which was a big bonus. This was John's reservoir walk so we did not visit Darwen tower. Instead we kept on lower ground  first visiting Abbey Village reservoir, then Earnsdale reservoir, Sunneyhurst Hey reservoir, Upper Roddlesworth, Lower Roddlesworth and finally Rake Brook Reservoir. It was good to see Mike out again who joined us a couple of miles from the end.
