You couldn’t hope for a better autumn day than this, sunny, pleasant temperature, little wind and clear views. The walk started by the Visitors Centre at Beacon Fell Country Park. It went downhill, initially, to the River Brock followed by a couple of miles along the riverside path, passing Waddecar Scout Camp on the way (in all the years I’ve passed this way, I’ve never seen any scouts!).

We went through Weaver’s Farm which opened up views towards Fairsnape &  Parlick fells. After a short stop by the church at Bleasdale and a wander round the valley, we girded our loins for the ascent of Fairsnape. The climb was steep but on a good path & we made good time to the summit for lunch and enjoy some extended views.

We then took the ridge path & then the bypass path below Parlick summit eventually ending up at Fell Foot.

There was a bit of easier walking here along tarmac lanes and fields, ending with the climb back up onto Beacon Fell and the end of the walk.
