Jumbles, Jan 3rd

The day was a bit damp and grey but not the spirits of the 19 walkers who met up at Waterfold car park at Jumbles for the start of this walk which was to be led by Sue Boardman.

Setting off in a southerly direction, we walked round the reservoir and up to the B6391 which we crossed and turned left to reach the driveway to Turton Tower. Climbing now, we came to the trig point on Cheetham Close before descending to Three Lowes and made our way to Entwistle reservoir. Lunch was taken on our way round and we continued afterwards, passing the Strawbury Duck PH, and dropping down through woods to Wayoh, the third reservoir of the day.

After a pleasant stroll round the east side of this we walked through Turton Bottoms and finished our walk by completing the circuit of Jumbles to arrive at our cars about 2.20pm.

Thanks to Sue for leading this walk and standing in for her partner, Steve, who was skiing somewhere on the Continent.
