Anglezarke Amble first recce

Weather: No rain and mostly sunny

 

The rain we have been having all week stopped just as we arrived at the car park and it remained dry with sunny spells all day. From the car park we followed the Witton Weavers Way to Charlie's Pole where we joined the Anglezarke Amble route to Entwistle, Darwen Tower and Slipper Lowe. From Slipper Low we followed the Witton Weavers Way back to the car park. With all the rain we have had this month it was extremely wet underfoot particularly crossing the moor from Charlie's Pole to Blackburn Road, There were a number of stiles on this section that need some repair work which Steve has agreed to do.

LDWA Walks

The LDWA organises many challenge events and local group social walks, as well as listing many more organised by other organisations. Challenge events are normally between 20 and 100 miles and must generally be completed within a defined time limit. Social walks are normally led walks of around 20 miles.
