Start from Scorton Car park, GR SD 504 504, postcode PR3 1BU. This is north of Scorton near to the Lakes and sometime referred to as Scorton Picnic Site

The route will take us to Sykes farm, under Harrisend fell to Lane Head then 1 mile of quiet road before the long, but steady ascent to Grizedale Head. We come back across the tops to the summit of Harrisend fell before descending to Grizedale bridge and returning via Grizedale and Scorton back to the cars. In good weather the views are outstanding.
If the weather is inclement we will do a lower level walk under Harrisend fell and going to Dolphinholme.
The walk will be done at an easy pace

Re the walk on the 30th April, after checking the route , we have made an alteration to the last couple of miles due to parts of it being so muddy after all the rain we have had recently. Therefore the distance will now be just over 13 miles and not the 14 as given. Also we found that dogs are not allowed on the moorland section of the walk so would you please ask anyone coming not to bring along their dog
