Distance: 12.5 miles

Weather: Cold rainy day

There were 6 walkers including myself who braved a bitterly cold and rainy Tuesday morning, meeting in the Wyre Country Park carpark. The walk followed the Wyre Way northwards to Rossall School then we turned southwards and followed the Lancashire Coastal Way to the Norbreck Castle Hotel, this section being very hard work having to walk into driving sleet. From the Norbreck Castle we turned inland to make our way down through Bispham and Carleton to once again pick up the Wyre Way. Lunch stop was at Kincraig pond Bispham and was a very quick stop due to the weather. Unfortunately the riverside path was impassable due to a higher than anticipated tide, therefore we had to back track about ½ a mile to take an alternative route back to the carpark, making the walk about 12.5 miles.

Despite the conditions everyone enjoyed what was a very memorable walk.
