Weather: The weather was dry, cloudy with a little sun breaking through at the end of the walk.


Start/ finish point. HestBank Shore Road

 

Eight walkers set-off promptly at 9.00am from HestBank shore along the Lancashire Coastal way towards Warton Crag along the Lancashire Coastal Way. Great views from the top of the Crag before descending into Warton village and a short stop at the ruins of a 14th century Rectory. Then into Carnforth and a ‘Brief Encounter’ at the station before a lunch stop at the Canal Turn.

Along the canal towpath to Cawstone Wood before heading off for the tranquillity of Lunsfield Quarry. Out of the quarry woodland through the fields to Bolton-le-Sands and then Slyne with Hest.

Final three miles along an old cart track to Bare and through Happy Mount Park and onto Morecambe promenade with the sun shinning. Past the boxing heavy-weight World Champion’s house and return to the cars after 19 miles at 4.30pm.
