We set off dropping down to the canal at Withnell Fold. We followed the canal for a short while before taking the path under the Aqueduct to Higher Wheelton. We then crossed fields coming out on Briers Brow. Turning left here we followed the road then the path down to Brincsall Hall. It was then up through Wheelton Plantation to Hatch Brook Waterfall where we turned sharp right passing through the woods coming out onto Edge Gate Lane. We crossed the lane onto Withnell Moors following the track to the ruins of Botany Bay Farm where we stopped for lunch.

After lunch we set off over the moor down to Norcross Farm where we turned left climbing up Bury Lane through Withnell to St Paul's Church where we turned right following the path down to Gabbots Farm. We then crossed Oak Royal Golf Course passing LarK Hill as we made our way down to Ollerton Fold. We crossed the canal then followed the paths across the fields back to Brindle.
