Distance:              11.5 miles

Weather:               Mild, dry and cloudy

Well 20 good people turned out for this outing and we set off West down Lower Rosegrove lane towards Lowerhouse lodge, then across onto Padiham Greenway which is the old Blackburn /Rosegrove rail line. We then made our way through Shaw brook onto Stone moor and joined the Leeds Liverpool canal for a short distance around to Shuttleworth Hall .Down through the fields ajoining Altham industrial estate .We then joined the footpath that runs along the river Calder and joins  the Burnley Way into Padiham memorial park for our lunch break.

After lunch one of our crew was feeling fatigued so we followed the Burnley Way into Padiham where we put the gentleman on a bus with instructions of how to get back to the starting point. Onwards now following the Burnley way past Burnley's new training academy at Gawthorpe, through the woods at Grove Lane and up the only climb of the day to Hollins farm. Onto the Brontë way back down Ivy bank greenway and up Greenbrook Road  and back home where our fatigued walker was waiting and it was still dry.  Many thanks to Doreen for the photos.
