Glenn's Walk Tuesday 30th

Walk leader Glenn Williams

Distance 11.4 miles

10 started off from crown point car park with the weather looking a bit iffy. We passed through the plantation on dunnockshaw then down the lower path on to deerplay moor and around to thievly scout  and into the light summer rain heading accross Heald moor for the Burnley way and down into Portsmouth. Luckily the rain stopped for the only climb of the day up Carr road  and on to flower scar road. When we reached the other end the national grid were dismantling the old electric pillions and erecting new ones, so we stopped for lunch. We the picked up the path that runs along the lower edge of Heald moor and then onto the Burnley way up to thievly pike. We continued to follow the Burnley way back to the car park where one or two of the group went down to the singing ringing tree. A special mention must go to Ben, Kens grandson, who kept pace with us all day and only moaned once when his dinner wasn't until 12.30.
