Pinhaw Beacon, Apr 22nd

On a lovely spring day 13 set off from the lay by that feeds Pinhaw Beacon down to Knott farm and Lothersdale where we then we picked up the Pennine way to Cowling were we had a brew. Down Close Lane and across Earl crag to Wainmans pinnacle and Lunds tower where 10 of the party decided to climb to the top of the tower for some stunning views of the AireValley and everyone seemed to enjoy the monuments. From the towers down Jack field Lane into Glusburn and Crosshills we had lunch on the footpath by Lingstead Hall. As we dropped down to the road to Cononley one of the party developed a problem with her knee but being a hardy type borrowed a bandage, strapped it up, and carried on off along the river side through Cononley Woodside and onto Calvert lane, then onto TowTop Lane and picking up the Pennine way again on up to the trigpoint on Pinhaw Beacon. The mileage recorded was 16.5 and the going under foot was extremely dry ??? Photos to follow many thanks to all,
