SAWLEY

 

 

                                               SAWLEY - Tuesday 10th September 2013

  

On a very nice day 10 walkers and 2 dogs set off from Sawley Abbey, Sawley, led by Jean Bobker along the River Ribble towards Grindleton.   

 

 

Turning off along the Ribble Way, then up Green Lane, all the way to Grindleton Fell where we had a lunch stop, then turning back along Moor Lane, Bucks Farm, Lowcocks Farm, past an unusual reservoir, then through a small wood across a river with no footbridge, very exciting! 

 

Across fields to Top of Town Grindleton then Hill House Barn back into Sawley.

 

 

 

11.7 miles. A vey good days walk on some paths we had not been on before.

LDWA Walks

The LDWA organises many challenge events and local group social walks, as well as listing many more organised by other organisations. Challenge events are normally between 20 and 100 miles and must generally be completed within a defined time limit. Social walks are normally led walks of around 20 miles.
