WITTON WEAVERS WAY PT 2

Sunday June 30th - Witton Weavers Way - Part 2

For the second part of the joint walk with West & East lancs LDWA, Witton Weavers Way, with better weather but no sunshine, 37 walkers and three dogs set off at 9 a.m.

Leader Neil Smith set a fast pace from the start, after a few miles we were split into three groups for most of the 19.8 miles heading along Catherine Edge towards Bolton across Longworth Moor down to Dimple up over Turton Heights along Cheetham Close down to Turton Tower, past Jumbles Reservoir into Turton Bottoms, then Edgworth along Wayoh Resevoir to the Strawberry Duck Pub at Entwistle.

Lunch stop at Edge Fold, eventually coming out on the A666 at Cadshaw Farm heading back over the moors to Darwin Tower, a drink stop! another drink and toilet at Ryal Fold, then on our way back via Tockholes Plantation No 2 & 3, Hollinshead Hall (ruin) and into the car park, 1 hr ahead of last week, a good walk, Phew!

                                                                                                                                   Thanks Neil,  Easwt Lancs
