CROOKFIELD

CROOKFIELD  Tuesday 28th August

About 14 walkers set off from Crookfields car park, Belmont Rd, led by John Crook. It was fotunately a sunny, breezy day, a bit wet underfoot but perfect day for a walk.

Up we went on the Wiitton Weavers way to Green Lowe, Cranshaws,

then around Turton & Entwistle Reservoir, full to the brim!

Lunch in the car park then turning back up towards Cheetam Close, John stopped the group to explain the three burial mounds, known locally as the three loaves.

Then down through Dimple village, Longworth Hall Plantation, back on the Wittons Weavers Way along Catherine Edge returning to the cars, total 11.9 miles, a very good hill walk,

Thankyou John.
