This walk started at Warton Quarry car park which meant an immediate steep climb to the top of the escarpment. Luckily it was a nice day and the effort was rewarded with a decent view. The route led us round to the viewpoint above Leighton Hall, then through the RSPB sanctuary at Leighton Moss before heading across country to the viewpoint at the Pepper Pot for lunch.

The sun then decided to appear which provided pleasant conditions as we wandered past Arnside Tower and down to the coast at Silverdale. Some easy walking led us back across the valley and to the ascent of Warton Crag. This was a tough ascent at this stage of the walk but there were good views towards the Lakes from the top. All that was left was the descent around the rim of the Quarry back to the cars.
