Number on walk: 7
Distance: 15 miles
Weather: Dry and sunny
It was a beautiful autumn morning when we set off from Adlington using, first of all, the canal, before dropping down through Arley woods and walking round Worthington Lakes to our coffee stop. A short section of the Red Rock railway followed before walking along lanes and through fields to Blackrod. After picking up part of the Rotary Way we reached the main road, A 674, just before Dryfield Lane. To our surprise we saw not 1, not 2, but a whole host of Father Christmas's walking along. They were doing a sponsored walk for Derian House and there were 746 Father Christmas's in total.
Lunch was taken at Go Ape and we contiued our trip with Yarrow reservoir on our left to Alance Bridge and then along The Street leaving this to turn right through fields to Shaw Place and the Bay Horse pub. More field paths and woodland for a couple of miles and we were back to our cars at 3.20pm. Our small group enjoyed the day out with fantastic weather for November and lots of chat and banter.
