Boulesworth Breezer
Walk Leader: Ken Wyles
Number on walk: 8 + 1 dog
Distance: 11 miles
Weather: Windy with rain near the end
The BBC weather forecast promised a monsoon, so I was surprised to see as many as seven other people turn up for this walk. Luckily, we managed to body swerve the worst of the weather and had a decent day out. The walk started alongside Hurstwood reservoir, then a steady climb on the Pennine Way across Extwistle Moor and up the southern flank of Lad Law. The summit provided a fine view across to Pendle Hill but it was too windy to stop long so we descended onto the Pendle Way for lunch, sheltering behind a wall.
We then continued onto the Bronte Way, past Swinden Reservoir and onto Brown Edge where it finally started raining less than a mile from home. If we hadn’t stopped for lunch we would have missed it completely.
Thanks to all who turned up.
