Ringley, Dec10th

Walk Leader:     Adrian Houghton

No on walk:        7 + 1 dog

Distance:           10.5 miles

Weather:           Damp but quite mild with rain later

Seven of us set off from Forrest bank car park through Drinkwater park and  then on to the  13 arch viaduct. We then crossed the motorway and along the old railway line for a good while until we  reached  a sculpture which was a large chunk of stone on the Irwell trail. Then through muddy fields  to Ringley where lunch was taken in the church yard.

We set off and crossed the river over an old footbridge and passed a large substation and continued on to Clifton marina where  there were some nice wood carvings which made up for the lack of sculptures on other bank.We continued back on the Irwell trail to the cars in the rain but in good time.
