After a selection of Bacon , Sausage and Egg with Toast ; Tea and Coffee the group set off at 10.10 am for a gentle 9 mile saunter around the Anglezarke Reservoir. The pace was steady and not too quick as this was a chance for a chat and amble. Over the causeway the group tacked to the West of the Reservoir on well used tracks and through the Memorial Wood up to Healey Nab.

Dropping off the summit we made our way through the fields to White Coppice where we had a short Brew / Lunch stop. Setting off we followed the route of the ‘Amble’ through wooded areas with sun in our face and the Reservoir glinting as the breeze rippled over the water.

We only occasionally saw other walker on such a pleasant day which was a surprise. Towards the end we branched off on the good track to the causeway where the group could dump rucksacks  and make their way to the top Cafe for a helping of home made cakes ( Scones , Victoria Sponge , Bakewell Cake , Lemon Cake ) with tea and coffee.

The only ‘whoops’ moment came at the end after excess cakes were handed out only to have the last two join the group so a quick visit to the counter to arrange for fresh cakes and all was well….

Not a bad day out for a good price  ( £5 / head )……

Thanks to Ian for the photo’s which can be seen 'here'.
