Walk Leader:       Hilary

Number on walk:  9

Distance:              20 miles

Weather:              Sunshine and light cloud with no wind

A lovely warm sunny dry day gave perfect conditions for 9 of us to enjoy a fabulous walking day out.

Leaving Abbey Village through Roddlesworth woods, crossing Darwen Moors, the A666 and passing the Strawberry Duck. Continuing along Wayoh reservoir to switchback on the track up to Edgeworth.

Lunch stop at he Barlow Institute sitting outside in the sunshine. Refreshments of real coffee, tea and cake gave support to this volunteer run organisation.

The returning 9 miles back hugged the Wayoh and Entwistle reservoir banks before returning over the moors. Pausing at the seats near the Peak and Northern footpath signs to enjoy late afternoon views over Morcambe Bay. Back through Roddlesworth woods to the Hare and Hounds pub and cars parked on Dole Lane. A great 20!!

Thanks to everyone who came out today - Ian, Karen, John, Jeanette, Paul, Rob, Pat, Kim and Poppy the dog!! Hilary.
