Distance:         18 mile

Weather:         Sunny and clear with a cold wind on the tops

 

12 of us set off from Egerton Cricket club towards Dimple and Catherine Edge on the Witton Weavers way. After stopping for elevense’s at Hollinshead Hall we carried on to Roddlesworth Reservoir and Abbey Village, onwards through Withnell Nature Reserve we passed through Brinscall towards Great Hill where we had lunch at the ruins and memorial.

Down Spitlers Edge to Belmont and through Longworth Clough which fortunately was mud free due to the dry weather

LDWA Walks

The LDWA organises many challenge events and local group social walks, as well as listing many more organised by other organisations. Challenge events are normally between 20 and 100 miles and must generally be completed within a defined time limit. Social walks are normally led walks of around 20 miles.
