Ouzels Nest, Sept 25th

Walk Leader:      Paul Goodier

Walk Distance:   11 miles

Number on walk: 16

Weather:            Dry and sunny

We gathered at Ousel Nest Country Park car park at 10am and walked down towards the Jumbles and then turned right and up to Affetside. After a short drinks break we carried on past the Pack Horse pub, where unfortunately one of our member had a fall and sustained a couple of cuts, so one of our number accompanied him back to our start point. The remaining 14 of us carried on down to Hawkshaw. From Hawkshaw we proceeded to Edgworth where we had lunch at the Barlow Institute in beautiful sunshine. After lunch, a stop for some of us for ice cream at Holdens, and then along part of Wayoh reservoir, past the Strawberry Duck pub, along the embankment at Entwistle reservoir and then back along the Witton Weavers Way. We finished by going  past Turton Golf Club and then back to the start point a little later than planned.

Very good weather and dry underfoot for most of the walk.
