The Walk:-

Walk leader - Terry Pilkington

Distance - 11 miles

Number on walk - 13

Weather - very pleasant September day.

On a perfect day for walking, 13 walkers and 1 dog met on Shore Road Silverdale, Heading off towards Scout Wood, with a brief stop at Silverdale Well to discuss, that this is where the village got its fresh water and also a large trough where the cattle etc used to use for the same purpose.

Moving on through the wood on to the road, passing the Wolf Gallery Cafe onto Jack Scout, with great views across Morcambe Bay with the tide out, a bit misty but the sun was out and the views were lovely. On to the Giants seat, then along the coast to Jenny Browns Point, a photo stop at the lime kiln chimney, before crossing the fields to Quakers Stang and Cragfoot, Past Moss House Farm up through the woods, steadily climbing, eventually coming out on the road near Yealand Conyers Village

Turning left up the path taking us to the seats overlooking Leighton Hall, this was our lunch stop, with great views over Leighton Moss, Nature Reserve, Silverdale and beyond. Turning back the way we came then left into Deepdale Woods coming out at Yealand Redmayne, along the road through the lovely village to Yealand Storrs, eventually into Yealand Hall Allotment Woods , then across fields to Hawes Water Nature Reserve, through Waterslack into Eaves Wood, coming out at Emerslack onto Cove Road Past the cave on the shore across fields back to the cars, a great day walking, approx 11 miles distance
