The Walk:-

Walk leader - Kenneth Peaks.

Distance - 10.75 miles.

Number on walk - 18.

Weather - A perfect Spring day.

Left the car park at 10:00 a.m. after group photo, 18 on the walk. Joined the Ribble Way heading for Bradford Bridge, passing Waddow Hall, the sculpture trail and Crosshill Quarry. It was mentioned that we should have been at the other side of the river in the sun, so we crossed Bradford Bridge and walked in the other direction. Pure coincidence that the walk went  that way.

We headed to West Bradford and had a quick re-group in the Millennium  Garden, then on to Brocklehurst, Drake House, Hancock and Dove Syke. (the cider maker was still not open.) Onwards through the new plantation to Waddington for lunch in the memorial gardens, still in the sunshine!

A steady walk over grassy fields passing Saddle Bridge, an old pack horse bridge, to Bashall Hall, carrying on to Cheethall farm, Edisford caravan site and to the biggest obstacle on the walk, a stile in the middle of a hawthorn hedge. This dropped straight down onto the road to the Edisford Bridge Hotel, over the bridge and back to the start.

I blame this stile for us being five minutes late on the return.

Kenneth.

Late for what Kenneth? It was a lovely day and we still had 10 minutes left on our parking ticket. Thanks for a lovely walk in a lovely area and also thanks for doing this report.

Stan.
