The Walk:-

Walk Leader - Jaqui Peaks.

On Tuesday morning we were greeted with a ground frost and a weather forecast which involved snow. However by 10.00am the day was cloudy and calm, with no wind chill,  so not feeling to cold.

17 walkers, including two new members, set off from Spring Wood car park and soon warmed up as we crossed the golf course and up to Clerk Hill.  Turning left we followed the track to the Nick of Pendle and then steadily up on to Apronfull Hill.  Although not a very clear day the views over the valley to the Bowland Fells were still very good.  From here we took a path which descended to Churn Clough Reservoir and then across fields to reach Dean Farm.  Turning west we followed the valley through Sabden and then up to the Wiswell Wireless Station for more great views.  We returned to Whalley through a rather muddy ( a sign of things to come) Deer Park Wood.

A good 10 mile walk in very good company.

Thanks Jaqui for leading this walk and for writing this report.
