3pm at Dole Lane, Abbey Village, and 17 members of the group gathered here for a four miles walk to the Cricketers pub in Brinscall followed by a fish and chip supper which was eaten outside by the lake. Bob and Margaret not only led the walk and did the organising but also ordered the weather for us which turned out to be a very pleasant warm evening.

The walk took us over Withnell Moor,crossing the new footbridge which replaced one on Bottom's Up! which had been washed away in a storm, and continuing over the moor and through Wheelton Plantations before reaching the pub in the village. Everyone enjoyed their fish and chips before the short walk back to the cars via the old railway line which has been converted to a very pleasant path.
