Walk from Malham June 7th

Nine of us met at Malham Tarn car park on a damp, grey morning before setting off for an eighteen mile walk towards Littondale.  By the time we were climbing over to Middle House Farm the sun was starting to break through and off came the waterproofs.
We were left with a bright day with good visability as we crossed the moor towards Arncliffe.  We then headed up Littondale in warm sunshine, the River Skirfare was showing a dry bed.  Just as we got to New Bridge to start the climb over Dawsons Close the clouds gathered and it was waterproofs back on.  After a damp stop for lunch we reached Blishmire ready for the climb into mist over Fountains Fell.
The gods must have been with us because as we climbed the clouds cleared and left us with great views all around.  That was the last of the rain for the day, and we had a very pleasant walk in sunshine back to the Tarn following the Pennine way.
