Walk from White Coppice

Walk from White Coppice - 10th. Dec. 2013

The morning was sunny and bright, as was the chat and banter for much of this 10 mile walk. The walk started from the quaint, but picturesque cricket field at White Coppice and headed towards Brinscall, before heading up through woodland and across the moor to the now derelict farm at Drinkwaters. Here Gareth, our walk leader for the day, surprised us all by leaving the track to Great Hill and headed across moorland to the ancient burial mound of Round Loaf. From there we crossed more wet moorland and down Leadmines Valley, to the WW2 memorial, where we took a break for lunch.

Duly refreshed we continued downwards to Anglezarke Reservoir, then upwards to Healey Nab, where we took in the views as we finished off the remains of our coffee. All that now remained was a descent, through woodland, then across the fields back to our cars in White Coppice.

Thanks Gareth, on the day it was a lovely walk. Unfortunately no one had a camera with them to record the fine views.
