ARNSIDE

                Thursday 27th. December - Chairman's Walk.

The walk started on Arnside front before heading up hill to Arnside Knott. Fortunately any overnight rain had passed over and we were able to enjoy the very pleasant open views. From the Knott we dropped down through Holgates to Silverdale and a brew stop by the spring at Woodwell.

Decisions???

Once refreshed we worked our way along the network of paths this area offers, through Eaves Wood and past Hawes Water and Hazelslack, to our leisurely lunch stop at Fairy Steps.

Those with binoculars had been kept occupied, for much of the walk, spotting birds and wildlife and they were busy again admiring the fine herd of deer in the park at Dallam Tower and diving ducks near Milnthorpe Bridge. From there we headed back through Sandside and along the old railway track to our cars.

ALL  SMILE  TOGETHER

The day was rounded off nicely with a drink in the cosy bar of The Albion in Arnside.

Thirteen members did the walk, which was just short of 15 miles in length.

Thanks Stan for a lovely day.
