Leaving the car park we made our way along Burnt Edge before dropping down to Georges Lane. We continued through Montcliffe and Ormstons farm to Go Ape at Rivington where we had our lunch stop. Afterwards we continued through the paths to reach Dean Wood and the path which runs along the top of it. Most of the uphill work was in the next section, through the terraced gardens, under the 7 arched bridge and the climb to Two Lads and a brief stop to get our breath back (well some of us anyway). An easy finish then, descending to Holdens farm and the other side of the valley from Burnt Edge brought us back to our cars for 2.50pm. A good early autumn day which was enjoyed by all.
