Twentytwo people and three dogs attended the Chipping to Whitewell circular walk on 29th November.  The walk was led by Pam Farmer and Ann Holden and consisted of 8.7 miles starting from Chipping car park through the fells and fields visiting the Leagram estate to Dinkling Green and onto the flanks of New Laund Hill where we sat and had our lunch.  This viewpoint is usually quite spectacular giving a view of the long and winding river Hodder, but on this occasion it  was blanked out by the fog.  Following lunch we headed out towards Greystoneley Brook crossing many slippery stiles and bridges.  This led us onto Knot Hill where we passed the limekiln and the exposed limestone outcrops.  The fields then led us back to the Leagram estate and into Chipping where some of the group enjoyed a delightful cup of coffee and light refreshments.  It was a lovely walk, albeit slightly shorter than the normal routes, and everybody enjoyed the relaxed walk and chat amongst friends.
