Hutton Roof & Farleton Fell, Oct 30th

Hutton Roof & Farleton Fell

This 16 miles walk was the same one that I led for the group in May this year and nine people turned up which was good for a walk put on at short notice. Unfortunately, the weather was not as glorious as it was in May but it was very mild for late October. On reaching the trig point on Hutton Roof we had a coffee stop and we pointed out Ingleborough and the Howgills – it was a pity we could not see them!

The afternoon continued with a steep climb to the top of Farleton Fell – there are so many paths hereabouts that it would be easy to spend an afternoon just wandering about. Making our way through Burton in Kendal to the canal we arrived back at our cars just after 4pm.
