Anglezarke Amble 2020

The 2020 Anglezarke Amble was again very successful, so thanks must go to everyone who helped out.

The weather conditions were the best we have had for a good few years now which was a great relief as storm Ciara was on its way and hit us hard the following day.  Thank goodness the weather was as the forecast or we would have been in trouble!

The feedback from participants was very positive as usual;

"Just a quick message to thank you and your team for the enjoyable event on Saturday. The organisation from your team was excellent and even the weather was perfect on the day. Once again many thanks and we hope to take part again next year"

"I did the Anglezarke Today and would like to thank all the Marshals and Helpers for all their professional and hard work this is a fantastic event and the weather was really hot.
Also I would like to thank all the walkers and runners for being very courteous and polite . I will be entering this event every year this is the fantastic west pennines at its best
and West Lancashire LDWA group should be very proud."

"Thanks for another great walk. The organisation and catering was to its usual high standard, and the weather was perfect – I had a great day!"

"The first time that I've done the walk for a lot of years, I did the 17 mile route and enjoyed the day and the volunteers on the checkpoints were very friendly. The good weather was a bonus. Well done to all involved in the event."

"Thanks to you Ian and also the teams in the kitchen and at the CPs- possibly the best conditions I have done the event (warm and sunny all morning) and even the ground was drier than it often can be!"

"Many thanks to you and all your amazing helpers at Saturday’s Amble 2 friends who came from Malvern, to do it for the first time, thoroughly enjoyed it and hope to return"

It was not only good to see again so many familiar faces, but also those new to the event and all the younger participants and groups from all over the country. Many, due to the conditions, were recording some of their fastest times ever.

Both Raynet and Bolton Mountain Rescue must be thanked for the valuable part they played in the smooth running of the event.
