The Vermuyden Way - Feb 2022

The start of our 2022 social walk program saw us tackle one of our open challenge walks

The Vermuyden Way, a classic on the Flat Earth Society as not a contour would be crossed today with plenty of water to admire.

Imagine my surprise when Sherwood, High Peak and West Yorks LDWA group members joined us.

We set off at 8:30am with the route through Belton on the old Railway line, over the M180 to begin the 5 mile stretch on the banks of the River Torn. This took us to Westwoodside for lunch.

Some found the Pond for lunch and some found the pub, some found the pond then pub.

The afternoon saw us head East to Haxey and then the small lump to High Burnham then Epworth.
