September’s social walk saw us into the Peak district on day of overcast until uphill when the sun came out but a cold wind.

Eight folk were out this Sunday

Aaron, Pete (leading) and Roy from Vermuyden LDWA, Jo and Darren from Sherwood and John. Peter and Nicioletta from South Manchester.

We left Hope to enter Castleton, ascending Cave Dale the sun came out to begin a glorious day to be in the Peak.

Finding the hoards on Mam Tor we had elevenses just over the road and ascended Lords Seat turning right we descended Chapel Gate and found the Pennine Way towards Edale.

After refreshments at the The Old Nags Head we traversed along the Hope valley to Jaggers Clough and we climbed to the Roman Road to the summit of Win Hill.

Descending from Win Hill we arrived back at Hope Station all enjoying our day in the Peak.
