Another Edgy Walk

Another Edgy walk Sunday 13th May, leader Peter Poppy.

14 walkers met on the layby on the A57 at Ladybower reservoir, the forecast was for early rain but we had a clear sunny morning and we all looked forward to a sunny walk on the fells. We crossed the road and then went up onto Derwent edge towards Cakes of Bread where we had a quick drink then continued on to Lost Lad where we stopped a while to admire the marvelous views.

We then headed down hill to the footpath at the side of Derwent Reservoir and walked on past Howden Dam and admired the water coming over the dam and on to Slippery Stones Bridge. We had our lunch at the side of the bridge and then refreshed we continued on around the reservoir and then took the footpath straight up towards Alport Castles, took some time admiring the views of the castles and then over Alport Dale, what a beautiful clear day for views.

We then continued on back towards Ladybower and then downhill to the road and back to our starting point. What a great day out well done Pete.
