Penistone Boundary Walk
Another month on our shorter programs saw a number of newbies meet us at Cubley Hall car park on what promised to be a lovely warm spring day.
11 out with us for a 16 ml route around Penistone.
We began at a steady pace through fields abundant with spring flowers, over an infant River Don and the first hillock of the day saw Jenny struggle at the rear but as a good group we always made sure someone was with her.
Over taking some bronze DofE kids we found Hoylandswaine for Elevenses against a wall in some lovely sunshine.
Roy had his usual home economics out and had just told us about the farm up the lane that houses a work champion dancing horse team when a couple came down the lane with possible dressage horses.
Scout Dike rezzie (the T-P100 route in reverse) was next and this climb had a couple blowing, lunch was took at the Royd Moor view point.
After lunch (next time Roy we go for an ice cream from the garden centre) saw us field boundary walk onto a road that took us up all the way to our cars back for 3 pm a nice pint at The Cubley Hall hotel and still made it home in time for the footy.
Thanks Roy, another great walk.
