Lorna's Ludford Lollop

LDWA walk August 19th Lorna’s Ludford Lollop.

8 walkers started in the lovely village of Ludford on a cloudy but very warm day and we made our way to Tealby where I am told Elton John’s song writer had a house where he wrote music and songs.

We continued on towards Walesby past castle farm, now becoming derelict, and on towards the walkers church above Walesby where we stopped for our morning break. There is a lovely stained glass window in this church depicting walkers and cyclists.

From there we continued on to Normanby Le Wold where we were plagued with flies then towards Thoreway where we past a huge field set up for track bike racing and what a site when they came over a hill and completely flew through the air.

Our next stop was at Stainton le vale and St Andrews Church a beautiful little church that had been refurbished to a very high standard where we had our lunch. We then continued on to Binbrook and The Plough for a cold pint of coke well deserved on such a warm day and then refreshed continued on our way back to Ludford.

What a lovely walk in the Lincolnshire Wolds and all the lovely villages and churches well done and thank you Lorna.
