We HOPE to get to EDALE - May 2016

11 people met at the Hope Stn approach road to join Pete and Aiden on their first walk leading the group. A bright sunny day was promised.

The first thing to negotiate before the climb up Cave Dale was the bakery in Castleton. Lee knew of the pleasantries on offer, the toilets across the road was pleasant enough for the ladies in the group today. Once at the top of Cave Dale a very enjoyable undulating route took us to elevenses at the ‘gap’ between the Mam Tor steps and Rushup Edge.

Late morning took us along the edge and descended into the Edale valley via Chapel Gate a nice walk took the group from Barber Booth along the Pennine Way to lunch at the world famous Cross Keys Edale.

After lunch the afternoon saw us amble along the flanks of Kinder finding Jaggers Clough we ascended to Hope Cross for the obligatory group photo.

Along the Roman Road the last ascent of the day saw us summit Win Hill. The last drop back to the Stn approach saw us back at the vehicles after another great day in the gem of The Peak District.

Thanks to Pete and Aiden for a great walk
