Wycoller, Widdop & Withins - Longer Weekend Walk
Sat 1st Jun 2024
Walk Details:
We start at the Atom and begin with a decent into the village of Wycoller and its ruined Hall, which starts the Bronte theme for the day's walk. A pretty walk out of Wycoller along the valley and then we head to the summit of Boulsworth Hill - Lad Law at 517m using the Lancashire Way. It's then on to and over the border into Yorkshire where we begin by circumnavigating the Widdop Reservoir. A short stretch on the Pennine Bridleway is then followed by the Pennine Way itself. This takes us north past the Walshaw Dean Reservoirs & up & over Withins Heights to the ruins of Bronte fame. The Bronte Waterfalls and Bridge follow and then its the Bronte Way most of the way back including a short climb at the end back to the Atom and the cars
