Two Feel Good News Items For You Norman Corrin has been nominated for a Volunteer Awardfor his work for the LDWA Congratulations to Norman on his nomination for a Volunteer Award at the LDWA AGM on the 17th March. You may be aware that Norman stepped in last year to take on the National Membership role. He has been nominated by the NEC and wholeheartedly supported by BBN BBN's support and Karen and Phil are engaged – it was a Leap Year proposal! - and was announced at the Hannington Hike with a fanfare from Norman’s mobile Photos Congratulations and our very best wishes to them both. Hannington Hike Challenge Event - Sunday 3rd March A massive well done and thank you to Alan Leadbetter for organising another successful Hannington Hike event. There was the anticipated mud, but also plenty of sunshine and blue sky, and lots of lovely comments from the participants – about the scenic route, the friendly welcome at checkpoints, the wide choice of snacks on offer, and the tasty vegetable stew at the finish. BBN Holiday to Ilfracombe - 30th August/2nd September 2024 Roy Carter has reserved rooms at the Imperial Hotel, Ilfracombe – most of these have been quickly booked by eager walkers. There is still room available at the hotel, or members may prefer to find their own accommodation and join the group for the walks. A new 27 mile route goes south towards the Hanningfields and the South Hanningfield reservoir.
