The first Shillington Shuffle was held in 1991 organised by John Nickerson. The HQ for the 1991 event was Shillington but there were problems with parking in the village.
The following year the event moved to Barton-le-Clay, which was to become its home.
Herbert Papworth organised the event in 1995 and 1996 while John Nickerson was working in America.
There were ten Shillington Shuffles, from 1991 to 2000. It was replaced by a new event, the Steppingley Step, in 2001.
The Shillington Shuffle returned in 2011. From that date it has taken place every third year, alternating with the Steppingley Step and the Sundon Saunter.
Since 2011 the event has been organised by Dave & Lynn Yorston, Mike & Sandra Hyland and Dave Findel-Hawkins.
Dave Findel-Hawkins has been the Event Lead since 2024.
