Back to Whiston - Thursday 15th October 2026

Leader Steve Clark

After welcoming Abi who was walking with us for the first time and only joined the LDWA two weeks ago, on a windy but warm day 12 hardy walkers plus Jim, oops I mean Alfie, went back to Whiston.
Leaving the cars we skirted the Northampton Washlands and headed uphill towards Little Houghton, then into the countryside to Cold Brayfield where we had a 5 min water stop at the village pond.
Then just before Whiston we had our morning break in an old barn, and after negotiating a large puddle we headed on to Whiston.
A quick stop at the church in Whiston, then we headed out of Whiston and on to the River Nene towpath towards Cogenhoe where we had our lunch break.
From Cogenhoe we headed back to Little Houghton and back around the Northampton Washlands, where we walked around the lake and back to the cars.
